The Fantasy Collection

The creations in The Fantasy collection which Jaime Hayon has designed for Lladro, mirror the perfect fusion between the artistic quality of the Spanish porcelain brand and the playful, fantasy quality the designer brings to his works. The balance between expression and function, the studied combination of Lladro’s usual themes and the magic of the unexpected that Hayon is known for, make these pieces truly original objects that, over and above their decorative potential, awaken a sense of fantasy in the beholder.

Hayon Camper Shoes

I wanted to find a form that stylized the foot, like the tap dancing shoes. I have always liked the character of dance shoes because they remind me of a music-hall. I wanted to make a simple shoe but one that had character, in solid colours but that were special enough to give identity to a way of dressing. If for me, and also for many others, glasses are important in creating the personality of a person, I think that shoes should be so too. Hayon defines his design as a sporty shoe with a touch of elegance, or vice versa, that hides some surprises that make it all the more special, like the feel of the laces or the linen interior and that combines the most characteristic codes of his work as an artist and designer: the fusion of styles, soft and organic forms, the mix of materials and the quality of its manufacturing.

Crystal Candy Set for Baccarat

The opportunity to research and exercise creative possibilities along with Baccarat led to the creation of the Crystal Candy Set. The approach was guided by the search for exquisite color and material combinations. With these pieces, I wanted to replicate the richness of fresh tropical fruit using crystal and other materials, such as ceramics. Using a variety of textures and thicknesses, a new game of reflection has been accomplished with each of the 9 characters that make up the collection. Diverse crystal cutting techniques can be appreciated throughout the collection. They result in a series of soft, feminine shapes with touch of humor. Fruity inspirations are mixed with gem like features: pineapples, pomegranates, golf balls and water drops are some of the ideas explored. The pieces are a limited edition of 25.

Bisazza Bagno

The collection recalls the glamour of the 1930s with a Scandinavian touch and feminine shapes. Elegance is the main trait of this innovative collection. The bathroom is the most important room in the home and it should not be hidden. With this collection, it becomes an area you want to show, a place you can keep open. The bathroom becomes a stylish room, full of charm and style, with a strong identity.

Rug Company

The Rug Company has teamed up with Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon to create a collection dedicated to original design, superior craftsmanship and exemplary quality. Hayon’s creative energy and singular vision is captured in three new rugs, Captione, Silhouette and Vases, each one reflects his offbeat imagination and irreverence for conventional design. The intricate collection honours The Rug Company and Hayon’s combined respect of both artisan traditions and modern design; it reflects the wit and lyrical charm of the designer himself, and his ability to blur the lines between art, decoration and design.

FORMA / Choemon Gama Porcelain

Hirotoshi Maruwaka, the producer of Maruwakaya, asked Hayon if he was interested in working with Kamide Choemon-gama, a pottery of one of Japan’s most acclaimed traditional porcelain crafts, Kutaniyaki. The answer was a resounding yes. Drawing from key ideas in Japanese culture concerning relations and links between the people at the table, food, seasons and table wares, the goal was to create pieces that help people recognise these relationships. The resulting ‘FORMA’ series of beautifully crafted bowls, cups and vessels is a sensitive balance between the design ideals and philosophies of two cultures. First shown in 2010 in a palette of rich blue and white with red accents, this elegant white and gold collection for 2012 draws attention away from pattern to focus on the simplcity and elegance of the forms themselves.

Smartphone For AU

The au mobilephone project has produced a series of innovative Japanese mobile phones that go beyond function and specifications to put joy and pleasure into your hands. The result is a mobile product brand with an entirely new sense of value, based on a strong track record in design and the power to deliver new ideas. With iida, the life of each product is infused with its own sensibility. The Hayon phone shown in prototype here playfully combines analog and digital details.
