“Jaime Hayon: InfinitaMente” brought together at the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània the universe of renowned designer Jaime Hayon, winner of the 2021 Spanish National Design Award. The exhibition, which was open from September 22 in the Ferreres and Goerlich rooms of the CCCC, had been curated by Hayonstudio and organized and produced along with the Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana and the CCCC. It took place within the framework of the official program of València World Design Capital 2022.

“Jaime Hayon: InfinitaMente” showcased a selection of the most iconic works by the versatile Madrid-born creator. The project was a journey through his personal universe and his creative process, exploring materials, tools, inspiration, and references. This was the first large-scale showcase of Jaime Hayon’s work to be held in Spain and was launched to coincide with the World Design Street Festival—one of the most eagerly awaited Signature events on the capital’s calendar—and Valencia Disseny Week. “Jaime Hayon: InfinitaMente” remained open to the public until April 16, 2023.

An endless creative universe

“Jaime Hayon: InfinitaMente” showcased a selection of this charismatic creator’s most iconic works, spanning both artistic pieces and installations, as well as industrial products designed for various companies.
The exhibition also featured works that had never been presented in Spain before, including: “Masquemask”: An impressive exhibition of seven large tapestry-masks originally designed for the LODZ Design Museum, “Mesamachine” and “Mediterranean Digital Baroque”: One of the designer’s earliest and most influential exhibitions.
In addition, the show included large-format paintings and sculptures, further highlighting the breadth and versatility of Hayon’s artistic vision.

Visitors to “Jaime Hayon: InfinitaMente” discovered a curated selection of products and furniture spanning two decades of Hayon Studio’s prolific output. This included not only unique and limited-edition pieces but also samples of processes and raw materials, offering an unprecedented glimpse into the intricate details typically hidden from public view.
Glass and ceramics, two pivotal materials in Hayon’s distinctive body of work, took center stage in two dedicated rooms. These spaces explored the core themes of creativity applied to material and the quest for diverse expressive tools within each of these specialized disciplines.

The central section of “Jaime Hayon: InfinitaMente” was dedicated to the intricate creative process behind Hayon’s commercial furniture, lighting, and accessories. This area pulled back the curtain on the journey of these creations, openly revealing the references, sources of inspiration, and production details—both industrial and handcrafted—that enrich their story and provide crucial context.
Visitors also saw a display of sketchbooks, notebooks, and drawings, alongside various objects, samples, and prototypes, offering a deeper look into Hayon’s most personal works.
