Groninger Museum Info Centre
The design of the Groninger Museum’s information center aimed to transform a traditionally cold space into a warm, inviting environment. The goal was to seamlessly integrate cutting-edge technology while maintaining a homey feel, ensuring both functionality and flexibility.
A key design element is a table with integrated niches, offering privacy and concentration alongside ample surface area.
Reflecting the museum’s unique character, most furniture, including the multi-table, magazine stands, and custom mirrors and vases, was bespoke. This commitment to quality craftsmanship creates a distinctly residential ambiance, making visitors feel they’ve entered a truly special place.
Further enhancing the space is a monumental, one-of-a-kind, hand-painted vase, a dedication to the Netherlands. Hexagonally cut marble floors impart a regal feel, while custom copper lights, a dedicated cinema, and display cases around the room create a warm, vibrant atmosphere. This media center is indeed a special room for a very special museum.
