Menswear Items 1 to 38
Jijibaba is an evolving collection of apparel created by a community of designers whose normal field of work covers a wide variety of products and living spaces. Jijibaba’s ambition is to bring high quality and functional clothing options to the market utilising ideas and approaches that emanate from the designers’ grounding in industrial design. The brand’s first items include two distinct yet complementary menswear lines designed by Jasper Morrison and Jaime Hayon, each reflecting their unique creative spirit and identity. Following the first items released in collaboration with Hayon and Morrison, Jijibaba will expand the collection with further items designed by other designers.
From 15 September, Jijibaba’s items 1 to 38 will be available exclusively at Dover Street Market London and through the Dover Street Market e-shop. From October, the collection will be available at Dover Street Market New York, Ginza and Singapore. Items 1 to 38 will be on view in a specially curated space at the Design Frontiers exhibition, Somerset House, from 18 to 24 September. The collection is presented on a modular rack structure custom designed by Morrison and Hayon and surrounded by their furniture for Vitra and Fritz Hansen, creating a salon-like atmosphere, which invites visitors to linger and relax.
“Good design should be problem solving and long lasting, this goes without saying. But I also make design for people, to be used by people. I believe that good design should provoke feelings. Design should make you feel comfortable. And design should generate happiness. This is what I have tried to achieve with the first items I developed for Jijibaba.”

“I’m interested in how things interact with everyday atmosphere or everyday settings, not in a showroom or on the page of a magazine, but in real life. The goal is to design things that perform in a natural and balanced way without any pretensions. I’ve done a lot of products which deal with this issue including footwear and eyewear, and now I’m excited to apply a similar approach for Jijibaba, to design clothes which perform naturally as a sum of their details, materials and cut in an everyday context.”
