T-Bone Armchair
In a scenic setting of the Flagship Store in Via Durini 23, Ceccotti Collezioni will be showcasing the new T-Bone armchair (a limited edition in shellacked mahogany and fabrics designed by Livio De Simone will be available too), next to the Árbol side table designed by Jaime Hayon, while in Rho the company, in partnership with Poltrona Frau, will display its pieces in a special layout, telling about the synergistic journey of the two companies in pursuit of beauty and excellence in the art of making Poltrona Frau’s leather sofas and armchairs and Ceccotti Collezioni’s solid wood furniture. Milano, September 2021 – Ceccotti Collezioni taking part in the Milan Design Week both at the Fair and at Fuorisalone. The company will be at Supersalone, Hall 2, lane A28, with Poltrona Frau. The companies decided to add their personal touch to the stalls by laying out a graphic concept designed by Calvi Brambilla, so they selected two iconic pieces that best embody the excellence of their expertise. Ceccotti chose the D.R.D.P. by Roberto Lazzeroni, which still is one of the company’s bestsellers. The Flagship Store in Via Durini 23 will be the real stage for the presentation of the new 2021 pieces by Ceccotti Collezioni, with the new T-Bone armchair next to the Árbol side table, both designed by Jaime Hayon. After the Twenty Two armchair designed by Jaime Hayon, which is still one of Ceccotti Collezioni’s icons, the designer and the company both felt deep responsibility in launching a new product that could measure up to that. The idea was of literally reversing the product’s concept and the type of manufacturing process.
The company asked Jaime Hayon to come up with a set of finished elements joined to each other. The result is a completely unexpected armchair that overturns the usual way of thinking of Ceccotti’s designs, more inspired by the sinuosity of curved wood. The T-Bone armchair is available in different types of wood, American walnut, ash and in a multitude of finishes, including shellac. Depending on the chosen combination of wood, finish and upholstery, its appearance changes dramatically. The same goes for the Árbol side table, which can go with the armchair while retaining its distinctive personality. The very name of the product recalls the appearance of a tree. The design consists of a central column with three “branches” and shelves attached to it. In addition to such versions, which have already been included in the catalogue, at the Design Week the company will also present a special 25-piece limited edition of the T-Bone, made in shellacked mahogany and upholstered in original fabrics designed by Livio De Simone. The limited-edition armchair will be signed and numbered, with a special silver plaque. Shellacked mahogany will only be used in this special version: a precious finish that takes hours of work (up to 8 coats) to reach the perfect shine, evenness and purity. It is a wood and a finish (largely used in shipbuilding but less so in design) that Ceccotti Collezioni uses only for a few special pieces and that felt perfect for such an exceptional star, the limited-edition T-Bone. The upholsteries, designed by Livio De Simone, are hand painted cotton and go perfectly well with the shellacked mahogany frame of the chair.
