Archivo Shelves
The shelving’s organic curves are symbolic of the Spanish artist’s aesthetic language and indicative of his signature style. The Sky Blue variant serves as a nod to Hayon’s love of colour, the Black Grey offers a more neutral tone, and the Oak is available with a more classic appeal. The shelves come in three dimensions: a double-tiered unit which stands at 54cm high and is well suited for spotlighting a few smaller items or as a media console, a three-tiered unit at 92cm for housing collections thoughtfully gathered over years, and finally a five-tiered unit at 168cm for creating larger exhibitions while maintaining a sense of style. Each shelf measures 140cm in width and 38cm in depth, which accommodates the standard 12” vinyl record size for music lovers.
Shelving that not only stores your belongings but displays them – Jaime Hayon’s new Archivo puts your cherished items at pride of place. The latest piece by Jaime Hayon to enter &Tradition’s collection, the Archivo shelves showcase who you are as an individual. Originally made as part of a personal project for the designer’s private home, the fluid, soft but sturdy design plays a pivotal role in the art of storing meaningful objects and keepsakes. “I travel a lot for work and when I do, I love to bring things back home that stood out to me at the time, as little reminders,” explains Hayon. “These found books and objects are special to me and therefore, I wanted a worthy place of displaying them – this is how Archivo was born.” A feature incorporated to fulfil its original design purpose, Archivo’s irregularly sized shelves introduce a sense of playfulness to interiors, allowing users to organise belongings while providing the perfect framing tool to highlight favourite items.
