Catch
Catch Chair is Jaime Hayon’s visual metaphor for welcome and warmth—an upholstered embrace rendered in sculptural form. Inspired by the gesture of open arms, the chair’s armrests extend naturally from its rounded backrest, curving like limbs ready to receive. With its light yet generous silhouette and playful proportions, the design balances Hayon’s Mediterranean charm with Scandinavian precision. The wooden legs in stained or white-oiled oak contribute to the chair’s graceful stance, grounding it in timeless craftsmanship.
Released during Salone del Mobile 2013, Catch marked the first collaboration between Hayon and &Tradition—an unexpected fusion of southern flair and Nordic tradition. While compact and minimal in its lines, the chair is anything but cold: it exudes personality and character, offering both comfort and a sense of being “held.” Upholstered in Kvadrat textiles or supple leathers, Catch Chair transforms a simple seat into an emotional experience—one that invites you not just to sit, but to stay.
