This imaginative gastronomic experience arrives to bring a breath of fresh air to Madrid’s culinary scene. The new restaurant has been designed by renowned Spanish artist Jaime Hayon, who previously carried out the interior design project for the Barceló Torre de Madrid hotel. Jaime Hayon, winner of the 2021 National Design Award, has created a unique and immersive atmosphere where guests will enjoy a feast for the senses in a vibrant and playful setting.
To shape the gastronomic space La Santa María, he drew inspiration from Madrid’s rich cultural heritage, Parisian bars, and the tropical jungle, blending contemporary design elements with a touch of fantasy. The new restaurant is, in fact, an evolution of the existing interior design previously created by Jaime Hayon. This time, he has crafted a distinctive space that maintains a harmonious color balance and, thanks to its high ceilings, offers a spectacular ambiance.
His style is reflected in the subtle, organic forms, where materiality and furniture blend into a seductive harmony of elements. The use of bronze in display cases and lamps stands out, creating mirrors and reflective surfaces that play with light, turning the space into a photogenic and spectacular scene. Every moment at La Santa María feels like a movie scene, where each area features custom-made furniture and details that highlight the lightness of curves, casting unique shadows and reflections. The accessories adorning La Santa María have been carefully selected, each contributing depth and character. Additionally, various seating arrangements have been designed to ensure visitors feel comfortable and can spend hours enjoying the food, coffee, and the company of family and friends. The goal is to transform the dining experience into an art-inspired journey in the heart of Madrid.
